About Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana

This Accident Insurance Scheme covers accidental death and disability arising from an accident. Premium: Set at Rs.20/- per annum per member, deducted via ‘auto debit’ from the account holder’s bank/Post office account on or before 1st June of each annual coverage period. Coverage Duration: Coverage under PMJJBY runs for one year, from 1st June to 31st May, once the annual premium is paid. Accident cover assurance termination: The member’s accident cover ends or gets restricted on either of these events: • The member turning 70 years of age (nearer birthday). • The Bank account being closed, or its balance being too low to keep the insurance active. Where a member holds PMSBY cover through more than one account and the insurance company inadvertently receives premium for both, the insurance cover is capped at Rs. 2 lakh.
