Atal Mission For Rejuvenation And Urban Transformation
About Atal Mission For Rejuvenation And Urban Transformation
The Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) is built to:
1. Give every household a tap connection with assured water supply and a sewerage connection. 1. Raise cities’ liveability by developing green spaces and well-kept open areas like parks. 1. Cut pollution by shifting toward public transport or building infrastructure for non-motorised transport, such as walking and cycling.
These outcomes matter to citizens — women especially — and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has set out indicators and standards for them as Service Level Benchmarks (SLBs).

How to Apply
Offline Application
Applicants can apply for Atal Mission For Rejuvenation And Urban Transformation through the offline application process outlined below.
Application Process
There's no need for applicants to apply under this scheme.
Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) carry out the projects.
Where a ULB lacks the capacity to manage projects on its own, the State Government may recommend, in the State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) and following a Resolution passed by the ULB, that specialised parastatal agencies of the State or Central Government execute the projects instead. Any such arrangement must run through a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among the State Government, the parastatal agency, and the concerned Municipality.
In such cases, AMRUT's capacity-building component works to strengthen the ULB's own capabilities. Maintaining and upkeeping the resulting assets stays the responsibility of the ULB and the State Government.
