About Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme

Launched by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, the “Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme” aims to place one crore youth into internships at the top 500 companies over five years. Interns get 12 months to experience real-life business environments across various professions, closing the gap between classroom learning and what industry actually needs by building practical skills and work experience. This scheme runs independently of other skill development or internship programmes run by the Central and State Governments. At least half of the internship must involve genuine on-the-job work rather than classroom training, over a total duration of 12 months.
