About Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana
Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme run by the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, under the National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA). It promotes organic farming through a cluster-based model backed by Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) certification, helping farmers convert conventional land to organic cultivation with financial assistance for certification, organic inputs, manure management, and marketing. The scheme runs across 3 years, matching the 36-month window needed to convert from conventional to organic farming. Funding is shared 60:40 between the Centre and States, 90:10 for North Eastern and Himalayan States, and fully funded by the Centre for Union Territories.
