National Food Security Mission NFSM

Quick Summary: The National Food Security Mission helps farmers close crop yield gaps in rice, wheat, pulses, coarse cereals and nutri-cereals through subsidised seeds, demonstrations and farm inputs, with targeted allocations for SC/ST, small/marginal and women farmers.

About National Food Security Mission NFSM

This Mission’s central aim is to close the gap between potential and actual crop yields by spreading improved technology and better farm-management practices. To that end, farmers are offered a range of incentives — seed production and distribution, seed mini kits, Front Line/Cluster Demonstrations, upgraded farm implements, bio-pesticides, micronutrients, bio-fertilisers, and more.
