About Konkani Drama Competition
Held every year by the Kala Academy under the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, the “Konkani Drama Competition” is a state-level cultural event meant to foster and promote theatre among Goan institutions. Entries are called for through press notes in local newspapers. Goan institutions registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, whose registration has been renewed, may take part. Participating institutions are reimbursed, at government rates and according to Kala Academy norms, for to and fro transport charges of two vehicles used to carry artistes and stage materials.

Technical Awards Each technical award is worth ₹5,000/-: Stage Design/Setting, Lighting, Costumes, Background Music, and Make-up. Script Writing Awards The best script earns ₹10,000/- and the second-best ₹7,000/-, while a Translated/Adapted Script is awarded ₹10,000/-.
