About J.C. Bose Fellowship

The “J.C. Bose Fellowship” recognizes active scientists for outstanding performance, awarded on a highly selective, scientist-specific basis. The scientist must be in service at the time of nomination, and the nominee must be an Indian national working at institutions in India. > Duration of Fellowship:

  • The fellowship initially runs for five years. If the fellow superannuates during the term, it can continue if a host institution agrees to host it.
  • The tenure may extend for another 5-year term, based on a rigorous review of research performance during the fellowship. At least 25% of extension applicants will not get the extension.
