Indian Community Welfare Fund
About Indian Community Welfare Fund
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) runs the “Indian Community Welfare Fund” (ICWF) to support Overseas Indians in distress. It has proven vital in emergency evacuations of Indian nationals from conflict zones, disaster-hit countries, and other crises, and now extends to all Indian Missions and Posts abroad given its usefulness. ICWF guidelines have since been broadened to widen the welfare measures available under the Fund, giving Missions and Posts greater flexibility to quickly respond to Overseas Indians’ requests for help.
