Run by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board under the Department of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand, the “High Altitude Guide Course” trains and certifies young people of Uttarakhand as professional high-altitude guides. It is meant for those who have already finished a Low Altitude Guide Course at a recognised institution.

Offline Application
Applicants can apply for High Altitude Guide Course through the offline application process outlined below.
Application Process
Fill in the prescribed application form and hand it in, with the required documents, at the District Tourism Development Officer's office.
After the tests are over, the District Tourism Development Officer sends the shortlist of candidates to headquarters.
A committee formed at headquarters makes the final choice of participants.
