About Free Uniforms for Students
This state-funded initiative of the School Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, gives free uniforms to Class 1 to 8 students in government primary and middle schools. Started on 1st July 2004, it seeks to encourage regular school attendance and lower dropout rates. Every boy gets two pairs of uniforms worth ₹600, and every girl gets two pairs of stitched uniforms through the School Management Committee. Students in both rural and urban parts of the state benefit.
