About Financial Assistance to Dramatic Troupes participating in Kala Academy’s Annual Tiatr Competition
The Tiatr Academy, working under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa, launched the “Financial Assistance to Dramatic Troupes participating in Kala Academy’s Annual Tiatr Competition” scheme to push non-commercial troupes in Kala Academy’s yearly Tiatr Festival towards better productions. It funds key elements of the drama, namely Direction, Stage Setting, Live Band Music with at least 2 blowing instruments, Light Effects, Background Music, Costumes, Make-up and Transport. The Tiatr is also video recorded for the Tiatr Academy of Goa Library, with a free Digital Versatile Disc copy for the institution, and troupes receive expert training through compulsory workshops on various Tiatr components.

Conditions Unless the troupe sends at least one member to the workshops run by Tiatr Academy of Goa, it will not be eligible for the scheme's benefits. If the Tiatr is proved to contain any adverse remark, written or verbal, against any Government/Individual/Institution, etc., or anything against anyone's caste, creed or religion that could hurt religious sentiments, Tiatr Academy of Goa may disqualify the performance and withhold or recover payment. Every advertisement, whether oral, print or electronic media, banners/standees, etc., must carry the line 'This Tiatr is staged in collaboration with Tiatr Academy of Goa', which must also be announced before the show and during the interval. 2. Expertise and Workshops Through workshops, Tiatr Academy of Goa will offer troupes expert guidance in each area of Tiatr (Direction, Stage Setting, Live Band Music, Light Effects, Background Music, Costumes, Make-up, Transport). Conditions Attendance at these workshops by at least one troupe member is compulsory.

Exclusions / Who Is Not Eligible
The applicant will not be allowed to take benefit of the scheme “Production of Tiatr in Villages/ urban areas/ Educational Institutes” if the benefit of this scheme is already availed for a particular Tiatr.
