About Financial Assistance for encouraging production of Traditional Khell-Tiatr
The Tiatr Academy, part of the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa, launched the “Financial Assistance for Encouraging Production of Traditional Khell-Tiatr” scheme to motivate dramatic troupes and individuals to stage higher-quality Khell-Tiatrs and keep this folk musical drama alive. It reimburses the cost of staging four shows, either by providing an auditorium or hall or by funding temporary village setups, and also covers video filming, with a free Digital Versatile Disc copy for the applicant. Applicants have to follow the traditional Khell-Tiatr format, the performance and advertising rules, and send detailed proposals with complete paperwork beforehand. The Tiatr Academy of Goa implements the scheme, and applications must reach it no later than 30 days before the planned performance.
