About Development of Choir Industries
The Government of Puducherry started the Scheme Development Of Choir Industries to grow Coir and Coir based industry in the Union territory of Puducherry. > Training
Objective: To expand coir and coir-based industry by teaching the rural poor how to make coir products, and so create jobs.
Training: Instruction is given in making coir rope and coir mats from coconut fibre. > Period of training: 6 months.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for Development of Choir Industries, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

1. The applicant must be a native of Puducherry Union Territory (or) must have lived there continuously for the last three years. Candidates who have already been trained cannot apply.
Benefits Provided
Development of Choir Industries provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:
Financial assistance:
For each trainee – a Stipend of Rs. 1,500/- per month/per trainee.
For the trainer –
An Honorarium of Rs
An Honorarium of Rs. 300/- per month per trainee (up to Rs.3,000/- per month.).
