Chief Minister’s White Revolutions Scheme

Arunachal Pradesh
Quick Summary: Arunachal Pradesh's Chief Minister’s White Revolutions Scheme (CMWRS), with an outlay of ₹750.00 lakh, sets up dairy cooperatives of 200 farmers in five milk hubs, offering a 50% capital subsidy up to ₹3.00 lakh and a minimum support price for milk.

About Chief Minister’s White Revolutions Scheme

Approved in the 2018-19 budget announcement with an overall outlay of ₹750.00 lakh, the CMWRS sets out to build a cooperative of 200 dairy farmers in Pasighat, Rupa, Tezu, Chowkham and Roing as milk production hubs. It guarantees a minimum support price for procuring milk and strengthens the milk plants at Karsingsa and Rupa. It also backs vermicompost units through 200 farmers to encourage organic farming and the Green India campaign. The department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development runs the scheme in partnership with the Apex Bank and NABARD. Procedures for choosing farmers, setting up the District Dairy Appraisal Committee (DDAC) and cluster-based beneficiary selection by the District Dairy Development Committee are already in place. The scheme helps reduce poverty, lifts incomes, curbs migration, improves farmers’ health through extra milk production and raises organic agricultural/horticultural output.
