About Biotechnology Research Innovation And Entrepreneurship Development (Bio-RIDE)
Biotechnology Research Innovation And Entrepreneurship Development (Bio-RIDE), launched by the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science and Technology, is meant to push India toward sustainable green growth and a strong bioeconomy. It offers wide-ranging support — seed funding, incubation help, extramural research grants, and substantial funding to build shared infrastructure such as bio-artificial intelligence hubs, biofoundries, and biomanufacturing hubs. Applicants must be legally registered Indian entities with demonstrated prior experience in bio-services or high-performance biomanufacturing. The Department of Biotechnology and the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council jointly run the scheme, accepting applications mainly through periodic national calls on their official digital portals.
