About Awasiya Vidyala Yojana
Children of construction workers frequently live alongside their parents at building sites. Because their families are poor and short of resources, many of these children never get admitted to a school, or drop out soon after enrolling. Recognising that such children need residential schooling, a residential school scheme has been put forward. It aims to give quality education to children aged 6 to 14 years of registered construction workers, offering them primary, junior high school and secondary education facilities.
Scope of the plan: In the first phase, the residential school scheme will run in the districts of Etawah, Bhadohi, Kannauj, Moradabad, Firozabad, Lalitpur, Bahraich, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Azamgarh, Agra and Meerut. Depending on the experience and needs identified, it will later be extended to more districts.
