About Award of Fellowship to Most Eminent Artist
Offered by the Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Government of Gujarat, the “Award of Fellowship to Most Eminent Artist” honours and supports artists aged 60 years or above who have stepped away from professional artistic practice after making notable national-level contributions to plastic arts. The fellowship helps these artists buy the equipment they need so they can keep enriching the art world. The Gujarat State Fine Arts Academy administers the scheme. Each year 10 artists receive ₹5,000/- per month for one year, which can be extended up to a maximum of two years based on the quality and impact of their ongoing work.
