Assistance to Traditional Pottery Makers
About Assistance to Traditional Pottery Makers
Pottery is among the traditional trades followed by some Other Backward Classes communities. Potters who still rely on age-old production methods struggle against stiff market competition, so the industry needs revival through training in modern methods/techniques of production and funding to mechanise and modernise it. With this in mind, the Backword Classes Development Department, Government of Kerala, has introduced the “Assistance to Traditional Pottery Makers” scheme, which gives Traditional Pottery makers from the state OBC category financial help to purchase modern machinery and modernise their work.
