About Mother Teresa Asahay Matri Sambal Yojana
Women who cannot bring up their children because of financial hardship are the focus of the “Mother Teresa Asahay Matri Sambal Yojana“, introduced by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Himachal Pradesh. For a maximum of two children, it pays financial assistance per child per annum to help meet the costs of raising the child, such as education, nutrition and healthcare. It is aimed specifically at women from socially and economically weaker sections, for example widows and destitute women, who struggle to raise their children. Through it, the government hopes to cut the dropout rate among children from underprivileged backgrounds and advance the welfare of children from marginalised sections.
