The Government of Uttar Pradesh started the Leprosy Pension Scheme, which is run by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Uttar Pradesh. It mainly gives grant-in-aid for the upkeep of persons with disabilities and leprosy whose family income falls short of their needs.
