Application Process
Applicants can submit the form online on their own or with the help of a Common Service Center (CSC), using the Department’s Pension Portal (https://ssp.uk.gov.in), the UMANG Mobile App or the Apuni Sarkar Portal (https://eservices.uk.gov.in). The following documents are mandatory at the time of applying: the applicant's mobile number; a passport-size photograph attested by the Gram Pradhan / V.P.D.O. or certified by a Councillor; photocopies of the Aadhaar card and Voter ID card; details of a CBS bank account linked/seeded with Aadhaar; a copy of the family register (rural areas only); and a copy of the resolution adopted at the open meeting of the Gram Panchayat (rural areas) or certification by a Councillor (urban areas). For dwarfism cases, no disability certificate or income certificate is needed, as the Assistant Social Welfare Officer takes the height measurement of the dwarf person. Every one of these documents has to be issued by the district where the application is filed. In rural areas, the online form is verified through recommendations from the Gram Panchayat Development Officer, the Assistant Social Welfare Officer and the Block Development Officer in turn, after which the District Social Welfare Officer takes the final decision. In urban areas, the Assistant Social Welfare Officer and the Sub-District Magistrate verify and recommend the case. When the application is found to be in order, the District Social Welfare Officer sanctions it and the pension payment process begins. The pension reaches the applicant’s bank account one month after the application is approved.
