Karnataka’s Social Welfare Department encourages marriages between different sub-castes of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) by offering an incentive. Such marriages earn ₹2,00,000/-, or ₹1,50,000/- where the simple marriage grant has been taken. The aim is to curb casteism and build unity among SC/ST communities in the state.

When an SC/ST boy or girl weds someone from another SC/ST sub-caste, ₹2,00,000/- is given.
Couples who have already received the simple marriage…
Couples who have already received the simple marriage grant get ₹1,50,000/-. Subsidy Disbursement: Payment is split into two installments:
One half (50%) in cash
One half (50%) in cash.
The remaining 50% in a fixed deposit locked…

How to Apply
Online Application
Applicants can apply for Incentive for the Intra Caste Marriage within Scheduled Caste Community through the online application process outlined below.
Application Process
Step-01: Visit the official website and choose " Incentives to Marriages".
Step-02: Pick "Incentives to Inter-caste Marriages" and select "Register"
Step-03: Sign up with your "Aadhaar Card Number" and fill in all the details needed.
Step-04: Attach all relevant documents by uploading them.
Step-05: Following registration, an SMS reaches the couple, who can then print the acknowledgment form as proof.
Step-06: The Social Welfare Department verifies the couple's details on the spot before processing further.
Step-07: After the spot check is cleared, the incentive goes into the couple's joint account.
NOTE: The application has to be made within one year of the wedding.
Exclusions / Who Is Not Eligible
Recipients of incentives for inter-caste marriage or widow remarriage are not eligible for this scheme.
