About Incentive Award For Marriage With Disabled Person
Manipur’s Social Welfare Department offers the “Incentive Award for Marriage with Disabled Person” as a grant to anyone who marries a Person with Disability. Being a State Sponsored Scheme, it is open only to people domiciled in Manipur. The wedding must have taken place in Manipur, the couple must be living together when they apply, and the marriage must be registered with the Registrar of Marriage. Applications are routed through the relevant District Social Welfare Officer.

NOTE: If the marriage ends in divorce or dissolution between 3 (three) years and 5 (five) years from the date the first installment of the incentive (i.e. 10% of the incentive) was received, the spouse without disability, whether husband or wife, must repay 50% of the total amount as an arrear of land revenue within one year of the event; otherwise the principal will be recovered along with annual interest of 6.5%.
