About Chief Ministergi Artistesinggi Tengbang (CMAT) – Scheme For Award To Distinguished Artistes
The Dept. of Art & Culture, Govt. of Manipur, runs the “Chief Ministergi Artistesinggi Tengbang (CMAT) – Scheme for Award to Distinguished Artistes” to motivate and honour cultural artistes from various disciplines for their accomplishments. These include winning National Awards such as the Padma Awards, Sangeet Natak Akademi, Sahitya Akademi and Lalit Kala Akademi Awards (Young Awardees included), National Film Awards, success in any national-level competition, and International Awards in Art & Culture.

Awardees younger than 40 fall in the Young / Junior category, while those older than 40 fall in the Senior Category. Note 1: Only awards announced or received in the current financial year and current calendar year are covered. Note 2: Artistes for Awards / Felicitation are chosen by a Screening / Selection Committee set up by the Government.
