About Charmashilpa Scheme
The Charmashilpa Scheme sets out to modernise how leather artisans produce goods by funding mechanised production units. With this help, leather artisan SHGs and cooperative societies can raise product quality and compete better in the market. Both money and technical guidance are provided so artisans can move from traditional practices to modern methods.

Benefits Provided
Charmashilpa Scheme provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:
Total Financial Assistance: ₹10,00,000/- for each unit.
₹5,00,000/- given as subsidy
₹5,00,000/- given as subsidy.
₹5,00,000/- given as a bank loan
₹5,00,000/- given as a bank loan. Breakdown of costs:
₹3,50,000/- towards machinery
₹3,50,000/- towards machinery.
₹6,00,000/- towards working capital (raw materials and labour)

How to Apply
Online Application
Applicants can apply for Charmashilpa Scheme through the online application process outlined below.
Application Process
Registration Process:
Step-01: Open the official Seva Sindhu Portal.
Step-02: Select "New Users Register Here" and enter your Aadhaar Number along with the Captcha code.
Step-03: Key in the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number to proceed.
Step-04: When your DigiLocker account has been created, press "Allow" to move ahead.
Step-05: Provide your email ID and mobile number, set a password, type the captcha, and press "Submit".
Step-06: Enter the OTPs sent to your email and your mobile number, then choose "Validate".
Step-07: After validation, a confirmation message shows that registration has succeeded.
Applying for a Scheme:
Step-01: Open the Seva Sindhu Portal and choose "Department & Services".
Step-02: Pick the "Social Welfare Department" and then the "Charmashilpa Scheme"
Step-03: Press "Apply Online" and enter your registered email ID/mobile number along with the OTP.
Step-04: Choose the scheme and fill in your personal, address, and bank details as asked.
Step-05: After submission, an Application ID is issued, which you can use to follow your application's status on the portal.
