About Arunachal Pradesh Entrepreneurship Challenge
Hon’ble Chief Minister Pema Khandu launched the “Arunachal Pradesh Entrepreneurship Development Programme (APEDP)”. According to a DIPR release, APEDP seeks to be “catalyzing an inclusive solution to the motley local challenges by developing a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state and facilitating aspiring entrepreneurs with comprehensive support and nurturing.” In essence, APEDP wants to address the varied local hurdles that budding entrepreneurs face by building a lively entrepreneurial ecosystem, while at the same time backing their ventures with all-round support and mentoring.
As the opening component of APEDP, the Department of Finance, Investment and Planning announced the ‘Arunachal Pradesh Entrepreneurship Challenge (APEC)’ on the eve of the 74th Independence Day. APEC is designed to spot, promote, back and nurture sustainable, locally relevant business ideas and the people behind them. Following detailed evaluation and screening, 50 leading entrepreneurs will be chosen for the Incubation and Pre-Incubation programmes run with the IIM Calcutta Innovation Park. Of this group, the top 10 entrepreneurs will receive up to ₹5,00,000 each and the remaining 40 will receive up to ₹4,00,000 each.

Arunachal Pradesh Entrepreneurship Challenge provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:

Financial: The Top 50 entrepreneurs will be picked for the Incubation and Pre-Incubation programs run with the IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, of whom the top 10 will get awards of up to Rs. 5 lakhs and the following 40 will get awards of up to Rs. 4 lakhs.1. Government Support: Selected entrepreneurs become eligible for a range of Government Support Schemes, Grants, Soft Loans & Pilot Opportunities.1. Training & Mentorship: Guidance and training are offered through pre-incubation, incubation support and funding programs of IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCP).
