About SERB – POWER Fellowship
The Department of Science & Technology launched the SERB – POWER (Promoting Opportunities For Women in Exploratory Research) Fellowship to address the gender gap in science and engineering research funding across S&T programs at Indian academic institutions and R&D laboratories. It is meant to bring greater diversity to research by giving Indian women scientists equal and weighted access to research and development opportunities. > Objectives:
The fellowship seeks out and rewards outstanding women researchers holding a Ph.D. in any branch of science or engineering, working at Indian academic institutions and R&D laboratories. > Duration of Fellowship:
- The fellowship runs for a fixed term of three years and cannot be extended.
- A POWER Fellow who has already availed the fellowship once cannot be re-nominated a second time.
