About Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 – Short-Term Training
Running from FY 2022 to FY 2026 under the Skill India Programme, the Short-Term Training component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 — run by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India — sets out to give youth market-oriented, demand-driven skill training and boost their employability through NSQF-aligned, industry-relevant courses that build in On-the-Job Training. Candidates seeking fresh skilling, re-skilling, or upskilling — including out-of-education candidates, school/college dropouts, and unemployed Indian youth — receive free NSQF-aligned skill training lasting between 300 and 600 hours, On-the-Job Training (OJT), an induction kit, assessment and certification, accidental insurance, and applicable allowances. The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), MSDE’s implementing arm and the designated Central Nodal Agency (CNA), delivers the component through accredited and affiliated Training Centres.
