Quick Summary: PM Vishwakarma is a five-year Central Sector Scheme (through 2027-28) that gives traditional artisans and craftspeople formal recognition, skill training, a toolkit grant, collateral-free credit, and digital-payment incentives. It is jointly run by MoMSME, MSDE, and the Department of Financial Services.

About PM Vishwakarma

PM Vishwakarma is a Central Sector Scheme launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to give artisans and craftspeople comprehensive, end-to-end support — spanning collateral-free credit access, skill training, modern tools, incentives for digital transactions, and market linkage assistance. The scheme will run initially for five years, through 2027-28. > Objectives

1. To grant artisans and craftspeople formal recognition as Vishwakarmas, making them eligible for all benefits under the Scheme. 1. To upgrade their skills through relevant, suitable training opportunities. 1. To help them access better, modern tools that raise their capability, productivity, and product quality. 1. To give intended beneficiaries easy access to collateral-free credit while lowering the cost of that credit through interest subvention. 1. To incentivise digital transactions and thereby encourage digital empowerment among these Vishwakarmas. 1. To offer a platform for brand promotion and market linkages so they can access new growth opportunities.
