About Mission on Integrated Development of Horticulture- NHM and HMNEH
The Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme run by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, for the all-round growth of the horticulture sector — supporting production, productivity gains, quality planting material, post-harvest management, processing, marketing, skill development, and infrastructure creation. It spans fruits, vegetables, root and tuber crops, mushrooms, spices, flowers, medicinal and aromatic plants, coconut, cashew, cocoa, bamboo, and other horticultural crops. The Centre funds 60% of programme cost and States 40%, except for North Eastern and Himalayan States, where the split is 90:10. MIDH promotes cluster-based development, modern technology adoption, organic farming, horticulture mechanisation, protected cultivation, market infrastructure, and cold-chain development to raise farmers’ incomes and nutritional security.
