About Employees’ Pension Scheme
Launched on 16th November 1995, the “Employees’ Pension Scheme” is a Government of India social security initiative, implemented under the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. It gives employees financial security after retirement or disability, and to their families in the event of death, through superannuation pension, early pension, and family pension benefits. Eligible employees must be members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952, with pay not exceeding ₹15,000/- per month. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) implements the scheme, and applications are accepted both online and offline through EPFO portals and regional offices.
