SERB – POWER Research Grants

Quick Summary: SERB - POWER Research Grants, part of SERB's POWER Program, fund women Principal Investigators at Indian institutions to lead frontier R&D in science and engineering, with a mandatory female Co-PI. Level I institutions can receive up to ₹60 lakhs and Level II institutions up to ₹30 lakhs, each over a three-year period.

About SERB – POWER Research Grants

SERB – POWER Research Grants form one funding category under the broader SERB-POWER (Promoting Opportunities For Women in Exploratory Research) Program, an initiative of the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The SERB-POWER Program was set up to narrow the gender gap in science and engineering research funding across S&T programs at Indian academic institutions and R&D laboratories, through a structured push for greater diversity and equal, weighted access for Indian women scientists in R&D work. Within this, the POWER Research Grants specifically support emerging as well as established women researchers through a competitive, individual-centric funding route for undertaking R&D in frontier areas of science and engineering.
