About Maternity Benefits Scheme (BBOCWWB)
Under the “Maternity Benefits Scheme”, the Bihar Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, which functions under the Labour Resources Department, Government of Bihar, pays women construction workers a sum equal to 90 days of the minimum wages fixed by the State Government for unskilled workers when they give birth. Support is available for the first two deliveries only. To qualify, a woman worker must have completed one year of membership with the Board.
