Manav Kalyan Yojana

Gujarat
Quick Summary: Manav Kalyan Yojana, a Gujarat scheme dating from 11th September 1995, gives e-voucher-based toolkits for self-employment in 10 trades to people aged 18 to 60 from economically weaker sections. Applications are made on the e-Kutir portal.

About Manav Kalyan Yojana

The Manav Kalyan Yojana came into effect on 11th September 1995 and is run by the Commissioner of Cottage and Rural Industries under the Industries & Mines Department, Government of Gujarat. To lift economically weaker sections, it offers toolkit support in the form of e-vouchers for self-employment in 10 designated trades. It took the place of earlier self-employment schemes and is meant for individuals or families in rural or urban areas whose annual income does not go beyond ₹6,00,000/-. Artisans and marginalised groups, among them SC/ST communities and nomadic tribes, are its focus, and the most backward sub-castes face no income limit at all. Applications are filed online on the e-Kutir portal, and toolkits reach beneficiaries through a transparent e-voucher system.
