About Kishan Kalpvriksh Yojana (Scheme for Assistance to APMCs to Provide Basic and Modern Facilities) (General)
With globalization, liberalization, and private players entering agriculture, market competition has intensified, and the “Kishan Kalpvriksh Yojana (Scheme for Assistance to APMCs to Provide Basic and Modern Facilities) (General)” of the Agriculture and Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat, responds by strengthening agricultural market infrastructure. It helps Agricultural Produce Market Committees (APMCs) improve auction platforms, parking areas, sanitation amenities, and storage systems so that farm produce is marketed efficiently, to the advantage of producers and consumers alike. The Gujarat State Agricultural Marketing Board implements the scheme. Objectives of the Scheme:
- Equip APMCs with infrastructure such as auction sheds, cold storage, roads, and weigh-bridges.
- Help set up farmer-consumer markets with proper facilities.
- Hold agricultural camps that make farmers aware of modern farming practices.
- Help APMCs buy solid waste management equipment to keep markets clean and hygienic.
- Promote direct sales by farmers and cut down the number of middlemen in the market chain.

Financial Support for Market Committees:
Sizeable funds go towards developing and running market committees, at 25% for 'A' and 'B' class and 50% for 'C' and 'D' class.
Post-Harvest Management:
