About Kalpana Chawla Chatravriti Yojana
Named in memory of the late astronaut Kalpana Chawla, the “Kalpana Chawla Chatravriti Yojana” was started by the Government of Himachal Pradesh in 2012–13, with the Education Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh, implementing it.
The scheme offers financial help to girl students from economically weaker sections so that they can take up higher education without money worries. It covers eligible girls who are permanent residents of Himachal Pradesh studying at recognised institutions in the state, and aims to help them reach their career goals and stand on their own feet.
