How to Apply

Online Application

Applicants can apply for Jharkhand State Backward Classes Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme through the online application process outlined below.

📋

Application Process

Student Registration:

Applications are made online only, through the scholarship e-Kalyan portal run by the Department of Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Minorities, and Backward Classes Welfare.
The online registration form first asks for the student's Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, gender, and mobile number.

After Registration:

Once the details are validated, the portal issues an application ID, which is needed for every remaining step of the application.
The student has to enter details of an Aadhaar-linked bank account held in their own name.
The following documents then need to be uploaded on the portal.

NOTE: Any application giving a bank account that belongs to someone else will be rejected.

Verification by Educational Institutions:

The submitted online application is then checked by the student's educational institution or college through the departmental portal.

An application that the institution/college does not verify is treated as invalid.

NOTE: Under no circumstances will offline applications be accepted.

Instruction for Educational Institutions under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme:

To be brought under the scheme, every educational institution has to complete its registration on the departmental scholarship portal inside the stipulated time.
The Tribal Welfare Commissioner, Jharkhand, Ranchi, specifies the documents that institutions/colleges are required to submit.
The Commissioner will place a prescribed registration form on the scholarship portal.
Eligibility under this scheme extends only to institutions that keep up the prescribed academic standards.
A valid AISHE (All India Survey on Higher Education) or U-DISE (Unified District Information System for Education) code is a precondition for institutions/colleges to qualify.
A single registration on the portal is enough, and it stays valid for as long as the course remains recognised.
NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) or NBA (National Board of Accreditation) details have to be kept updated on the portal by each institution.
These details are cross-checked by the Tribal Welfare Commissioner through the NAAC/NBA portal.
Every six months, institutions send a self-audited report in the prescribed format to the Tribal Welfare Commissioner.
A Nodal Officer (Institute Nodal Officer - INO) has to be named by each institution to look after all scholarship work and supply the required information to the District Welfare Officer.
Geo-tagged photographs of the institutions and hostels where beneficiary students stay must be uploaded to the departmental scholarship portal.
Out-of-state institutions are physically inspected every three years by a two-member team set up by the Tribal Welfare Commissioner.
Should the inspection reveal irregularities or errors, the Commissioner is empowered to take the necessary action.

Ensure all required documents are ready before starting the application process.
