Industry Linked Biotechnology Research Scheme
About Industry Linked Biotechnology Research Scheme
The “Industry Linked Biotechnology Research Scheme (IBRS)” brings academia and industry together through projects carried out with an industrial partner, with the goal of commercialising a product, process or service. Project-mode support is provided by the Kerala Biotechnology Commission (KBC), under the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), and proposals have to be result-oriented with commercialisation of the outcome in view. Grants are given to Scientists and Technologists at R&D Centers/academic Institutions/Organizations actively engaged in biotechnological research, particularly in marine, agriculture, health, and environment. Each proposal must involve active collaboration with an industry partner prepared to contribute an extra 25% over and above the KBC allocated funds.
