About IMA Nongthangleima Yaipha Tengbang Scheme
Manipur’s Social Welfare Department started the “Ima Nongthangleima Yaipha Tengbang Scheme” so that women can shape their own future and that of the nation. It calls for a life cycle continuum approach that builds an ecosystem tackling ingrained biases and stereotyped roles, safeguards women’s rights and dignity, and empowers them with financial help and resources that encourage economic independence and personal well-being.
Objective of the Scheme: Around 4,00,000 women in Manipur over the age of 40 years are meant to be supported under the scheme. Vital financial assistance is offered to empower them and help them take up varied livelihood options.
