About Grant-in-aid (TB)

Indigent people with serious illnesses in Mizoram can get financial help through the Grant-in-Aid (TB) Scheme of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Mizoram. To govern this assistance, the State Government framed the Mizoram Health & Family Welfare (Grant-in-Aid to Indigent Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Patients Suffering from Serious Diseases) Rules, 1997, effective from the date they were published in the Mizoram Gazette.

These rules allow Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes persons who live permanently in Mizoram, have no family members employed by the Government, Public Sector Undertakings or local bodies, and have a total family income from all sources of no more than ₹2,000 per month, to receive the Grant-in-Aid if they suffer from serious diseases.
