About Grant for Purchase and Repair of Various Assistive Devices/Equipment for Persons with Disabilities
Introduced by the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand, the “Grant for Purchase and Repair of Various Assistive Devices/Equipment for Persons with Disabilities” helps disabled people move about and manage daily tasks more independently by funding the buying and repairing of key assistive aids. Individual aids can be bought with a grant of up to ₹3,500/- (rising to a maximum of ₹7,000/- in special cases), while ₹500 is given for repairing prosthetic limbs and assistive equipment.

How to Apply
Offline Application
Applicants can apply for Grant for Purchase and Repair of Various Assistive Devices/Equipment for Persons with Disabilities through the offline application process outlined below.
Application Process
First, a medical officer has to recommend that the applicant be fitted with a prosthetic limb or hearing aid. The applicant then fills in the application form personally and hands it to the relevant Assistant Social Welfare Officer. Processing is done by the District Social Welfare Officer's office according to the set rules, and the beneficiary is paid through the treasury.
