About Empower ST/SC Communities using ICT Tools through IT Knowledge Centre (ITKC)
Goa’s Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communication runs “Empower ST/SC Communities using ICT Tools through IT Knowledge Centre (ITKC)” to build a broad base of computer-literate people. Such a workforce helps the state roll out e-governance solutions effectively and prepares citizens for good jobs in IT Software/IT enabled services, BPO included. Training is delivered through IT Knowledge Centres (ITKCs) spread across the State, with M/s Info Tech Corporations of Goa Ltd serving as the implementing agency. Objectives
- Teaching basic computer skills to local young people, homemakers and other residents.
- Offering a range of job-oriented IT Training courses, such as training for BPO Operations/ Call Center Executives.
- Running structured training programmes tailored to requirements.
- Ensuring that every family in the State has at least one IT Literate member.
