About Disability Pension and Ex-Gratia (K.B.O.C.W.W.B)
The BOCW Welfare Board, Department of Labour, Karnataka, offers the “Disability Pension and Ex-Gratia” as a welfare scheme for workers registered with the board. It supports registered construction workers who are partially disabled by accidents or illnesses arising at their worksite by paying them a pension. Depending on how severe the disability is, beneficiaries may also get an ex-gratia payment. Once the beneficiary turns sixty (60) years of age, the pension stops.

Benefits Provided
Disability Pension and Ex-Gratia (K.B.O.C.W.W.B) provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:
Monthly Disability Pension:
A pension of ₹2,000/- is paid each month.
Additional Ex-gratia Payment:
A one-time sum of ₹2,00,000/-, determined according to the percentage of disability.

Renewal:
Construction workers must renew their registration with the Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board once every 3 years. If this lapses, a 1-year grace period applies, after which the registration is no longer valid.
Timeline:
This assistance may be applied for within 6 months of the competent authority issuing the disability ID card.
