About Assistance to Scheduled Castes for Fisheries: Fish seed rearing – Gujarat
Fish Seed Rearing is one component of “Assistance to Scheduled Castes for Fisheries”, a scheme from the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat, delivered by the Commissioner of Fisheries, Government of Gujarat. It gives money for rearing fish seed to individuals, societies, self-help groups (SHGs), associations, reservoir monopolies and private units, in order to lift reservoir fish production and create work for Scheduled Caste (SC) people in inland fisheries. Objectives:
- Boost fish output through reservoir rearing and provide jobs to schedule caste (SC) people in inland fisheries activities.
- Promote fish farming or fishing by schedule caste (SC) fish farmers and fishermen in fresh water bodies.
- Grow fish production and inland fisheries through reservoir fishing, pond aquaculture and river catch by schedule caste (SC) fish farmers and fishermen.
- Principally, generate employment for Scheduled Caste fishermen in the state and raise fish production.

₹90/- is paid for every 1,000 nos
₹90/- is paid for every 1,000 nos.
At least 30% recovery must be achieved
