About Assistance Program for the Cultivation of Lotus Fruit (Dragon Fruit)
The Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department, Gujarat, launched the “Assistance Program for the Cultivation of Lotus Fruit (Dragon Fruit)” to boost horticulture by giving farmers money towards the setup infrastructure and planting expenses of growing dragon fruit.

To qualify for Assistance Program for the Cultivation of Lotus Fruit (Dragon Fruit), applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
The applicant has to be a farmer

The applicant has to buy good-quality planting material from a nursery and begin planting. Note: Small-scale and women farmers will be prioritised.
Benefits Provided
Assistance Program for the Cultivation of Lotus Fruit (Dragon Fruit) provides the following benefits to eligible applicants:
General category:
50% support or up to ₹3,00,000/- per hectare, whichever amount is smaller.- SC/ST category: 75% support or up to ₹4,50,000/- per hectare, whichever amount is smaller. First Year Assistance:
Cement pole/pipe:
1111 units priced at ₹300 each = ₹3,33,300/-- Planting material: 4444 units priced at ₹35 each = ₹1,55,540/-- Total: ₹4,88,840/-- Actual Assistance Provided: 50% or a maximum of ₹2,44,420/-, whichever is lower. Second Year Assistance:
Head ring or Trellising & wire (approx. 400 kg)
₹1,11,160/-- Actual Assistance Provided: 50% or a maximum of ₹55,580/-, whichever is lower.
