Msme Skill Training And Employment Scheme
About Msme Skill Training And Employment Scheme
In 2021-22, the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of Tamil Nadu launched the “MSME Skill Training and Employment Scheme”. At the State level it is carried out by the Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce; for Chennai district, by the Regional Joint Director of Industries and Commerce; and in the other districts of Tamil Nadu, by the General Managers of the District Industries Centre. Objective: The scheme seeks to meet MSMEs’ need for skilled manpower by having the MSMEs give on-the-job training themselves, which in turn creates jobs. It helps the MSME sector by sharing a training cost that the enterprises would otherwise carry alone. Training provider: On-the-job training given by MSMEs must be employment based, job oriented and lead to certification. The MSMEs are responsible for making sure they have the capacity needed for the training they propose.
