About Micro Credit Finance

Implemented by the Department of Social Justice & Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra, with funding from the National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC), the “Micro Credit Finance” scheme seeks to improve the lives of economically disadvantaged Charmakars (Dhor, Chambhar, Holar, Mochi, etc.) living below the poverty line. It works to raise their educational, economic, and social status so they can hold a respected place in society, while encouraging the making of footwear and leather goods for government supply and sale in the open market.
