Meghalaya Tourism Development & Investment Promotion
About Meghalaya Tourism Development & Investment Promotion
Homestays: Offering tourists low-cost stays with basic amenities in private homes would help make up for the shortage of accommodation in the State during the tourist season.
Resorts: Tourists would be offered affordable lodging at different destinations in cottages designed to be attractive and eco-friendly, in keeping with the area’s natural landscape. Such facilities must be dependable, safe and clean. Ideally they should come up outside Shillong, so that tourists stay at the destinations marked for development, which in turn creates income transfer and jobs in those locations.
