LIDCOM Training Scheme
About LIDCOM Training Scheme
The “Training Scheme” of the Leather Industries Development Corporation (LIDCOM), Govt. of Maharashtra, is aimed especially at the (Scheduled Caste) Charmakar Community. It prepares students to set up their own business or trade, or to find employment. Eligibility is limited to citizens who are permanent residents of Maharashtra, and the scheme is funded entirely by the Govt. of Maharashtra. LIDCOM’s broader purpose is to run schemes that raise the living standards of economically weak and below-poverty-line Charmakars (Dhor, Chambhar, Holar, Mochi, etc.), supporting their educational, economic, and social growth and helping them earn a respectable place in society.
