How to Apply
Online Application
Applicants can apply for Jharkhand State Scheduled Tribe Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme through the online application process outlined below.
Application Process
Student Registration:
Students file their application online on the scholarship e-Kalyan portal, which the Department of Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Minorities, and Backward Classes Welfare has designated for this.
On the online registration form, the first details required are the Aadhaar number, name, date of birth, gender, and mobile number.
After Registration:
Following validation, an application ID is generated on the portal; it is used to finish the later steps of the application.
Students then fill in the details of their own Aadhaar-linked bank account.
Next, the following documents are uploaded to the portal.
NOTE: Applications showing a bank account in someone else's name are rejected.
Verification by Educational Institutions:
Once submitted, the application goes to the student's educational institution or college for verification on the departmental portal.
Unless verified by the institution/college, the application is not valid.
NOTE: Applications submitted offline will not be entertained in any case.
Instruction for Educational Institutions under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme:
Institutions wishing to be covered must sign up on the departmental scholarship portal within the time limit that has been set.
Required documents, as laid down by the Tribal Welfare Commissioner, Jharkhand, Ranchi, must be submitted by institutions/colleges.
A registration form in the prescribed format is published on the scholarship portal by the Commissioner.
The scheme is open only to institutions that uphold the prescribed academic standards.
Holding a valid AISHE (All India Survey on Higher Education) or U-DISE (Unified District Information System for Education) code is essential for an institution/college to qualify.
Institutions register just once on the portal; that registration holds good for the whole recognition period of the course.
Each institution is responsible for updating its NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) or NBA (National Board of Accreditation) details on the portal.
Verification of these details is done by the Tribal Welfare Commissioner on the NAAC/NBA portal.
A self-audited report, prepared in the prescribed format, is due to the Tribal Welfare Commissioner every six months.
All scholarship-related tasks are managed by a designated Nodal Officer (Institute Nodal Officer - INO), who also provides the District Welfare Officer with the information needed.
Geo-tagged photographs of institutions and hostels that house scheme beneficiaries have to be uploaded on the departmental scholarship portal.
A two-member inspection team appointed by the Tribal Welfare Commissioner carries out a physical inspection of out-of-state institutions every three years.
The Commissioner may take the necessary steps if the inspections bring irregularities or errors to light.
